Such a cute little man

Timmy loves to be held and to be right there with us. He's getting better with tummy time and hast started to hold his head up pretty well. He's also started to actually enjoy his baths, yay! He's still a really easy going little guy as long as he gets enough cuddle time which works perfectly for us! He is such an amazing blessing to our lives!!!!!!!!!!!

Splish splash I am taking a bath!

Daddy and I are so cute!

I love being read to.

Tummy time on my fabulous play mat.

I like to suck on my fingers if I can manage to get them in my mouth.

I love to cuddle with Mama.

There goes my thumb.

Helping with the laundry.

I love kisses!

Our first week home

Timothy has been home for a week now and we are nicely settled in. He is such a good baby! I know I'm probably jinxing myself. He's still really little, so things will probably change. His due date is not until August 14th, which isn't until another week.

My first car ride.

I still like to sleep a lot.

Bath time with mommy and daddy is quite something.

Uncle Evan and aunt Jenn came to meet me. :o)

Mommy thinks I'm sooooo handsome!

Last Friday my co-workers organized a wonderful baby shower for me. I was just blown away by all the people who came to celebrate Timothy's arrival to our home. BES has great teachers with lots of heart. I feel so blessed to be part of this great group of people and to have served our community together with them.
Michael took a picture of me with all the gifts for Timmy . Simply amazing!!!!!

Yesterday was our 2nd pediatrician appointment.
Tired but ready to go see the doc.

Timothy made sure to introduce the office to his habits. The nurse insisted on weighing him without a diaper, so he pursued to pee on the scale, the wall, the chairs, the floor, and me. ;o) So proud of my little guy.
He's now 5lb14oz and is 20 inches long. As one of my friends stated, he's growing like a weed!

Timothy loves to cuddle.

It's also always fun to help daddy work.

Look at my beautiful eyes.

Today Timothy tried out his bouncer for the first time.

He's not so sure how he feels about tummy time yet.

Maya and Kayla are ready to play with him though.

But at the end of the day, it's time to go to sleep.

The arrival of our little pear

The last 1 1/2 weeks have just been a whirlwind, but I'll do my best to recap the amazing events that completely changed our lives from here on out!
I was on my way to get my allergy shot and talking to my mother-in-law on the phone. I noticed I was receiving a call, but didn't recognize the number, so I thought I'll just let it go to voice mail. Well, God wanted me to take this call! Without any of my doing my phone switched over to the phone call I was getting and a slightly confused case worker was suddenly on the line. I say confused, because I obviously didn't realize right away that I was talking to her instead of my mother-in-law. When she told me that a family was interested in meeting us, my heart skipped several beats. The feeling of elation is not even describable. I stopped the car as soon as I could and took lots of notes as she spoke to me.
Mom had gone into pre-term labor and so the couple wanted to meet us as soon as possible. I called my hubby and filled him in on the details. We called the caseworker back to let her know we of course would love to meet them. The next few hours after that I got more pictures together, which was something the case worker suggested. I tried feverishly to remember and read up on how a match meeting works and questions to answer.
On our way to meet the parents I was sooooooooooo nervous! I could not think straight. But once we were there and talking to them it was all good. They are absolutely wonderful people who care SO incredibly much about this precious little child!!!!!!!!!! We talked for about 2 hours and then the caseworker told us she'll call us the next day.
We were happy, because we really liked them and were hoping they felt the same way about us. The next day we anxiously waited for the call, which came in the afternoon. Hearing that these two wonderful people would like us to parent their child was just amazing! Excited doesn't even describe the feeling adequately.
Since her due date wasn't for another 6 weeks, the case worker told us that she'd get back to us in a few days to see what the further plan would be.
Well, little baby had a different plan. He decided to come the following day!
Since we never really got to the part of making a hospital plan, we were just hanging out and appreciating all the pictures we got of our little man. During this time we also spent pretty much 2 days to agree on a name. We had a short list for girl names, but had in 5 years never really agreed on a boy name. ;o)
We knew we wanted to keep the first name his birth parents picked as a middle name, and finally after much contemplating and looking at his pictures we decided on the name Timothy Tyson!
Three days after his birth we got to visit him at the hospital for the first time! We were so excited. I was really nervous again though! On our way to the hospital I felt like I was going to throw up, but I didn't :o).
When we got there, his birth parents were simply amazing! They were so kind and loving, we just couldn't have wished for anyone better! That was when we got to hold Timothy for the first time. It was soooooo amazing and has been ever since!!!!!!!!!!

I love spending my days just staring at him, holding him, and caring for him. Being his mom is the most amazing gift in the world. Watching my hubby hold his son is equally amazing! What a huge blessing!
For now he is still in the hospital and will be for a little while longer. He is doing very well, but needs to get stronger and eat better on his own.

Please pray for Timothy's health, that he would grow stronger, and learn to eat on his own.
Please also pray for our amazing birth parents. May God be with them in this difficult time filled with grief! We pray that he would help them to heal and wrap his arms around them to comfort them.

A few changes

As you probably noticed our blog looks different and the title changed. As I've become more familiar with blogging, I realized I would like to use this blog not only for our journey toward adoption, but from here on out. I'll probably add other pages as time goes on. This is why the title changed. Just thought I'd clarify in case you are confused. :o)
What a beautiful song and a perfect video for us! As the summer progresses faster than we both like, we've actually found a way to enjoy waiting. I know, what a progress, right? This is also thanks to some wonderful friends and fellow bloggers. It's amazing how God puts just the right words in their mouths or blogs that I need to hear. Wow is all I can say.
Another way we've passed time is by preparing the nursery. I'm sure a few of you are wondering why this takes so long. Well, my wonderful husband is painting murals of our favorite American and Austrian children's book characters. We've made very good progress but are still missing a few. We've also finally agreed on what window coverings we will use. This probably sounds funny, but it wasn't that easy of a process. We had to find something we both liked as well as something that a non crafty person like me can actually make. ;o) When we're mostly done, I promise to post pictures. It will still be a while and I won't be able to post the final project until our baby actually comes home, since we'll need his/her name to finalize the whole project.
Hopefully you take time to listen to the song and the lyrics and enjoy it as much as I do. There couldn't be a better theme song for this time in our lives. John Walle's words say it all!!!!!
Next week we are going to beat the heat and get out of here to go on a little vacation. You never know, maybe this will be our last one without a little one? We'd definitely LOVE that.
